From the Desk of Amanda Michaelis...
I can’t even believe I have been on the job as the Director of the Salina Area United Way for almost 6 months now. How time flies! There are so many things I have learned in my short time here, but here are a few that I thought you might be interested in:
Loyal board members and wonderful staff make starting a new job so much better.
I am constantly amazed by the wealth of services we have available in our community.
Volunteering is something more people and employers want to do.
Executive Directors of our Funder Partners are the best in the business.
United Way Worldwide is an AMAZING resource for local United Ways like ours.
Not many people say no when they are asked to help their neighbors.
Innovative community problem solving is the future of the United Way.
There are so many success stories out there that it is hard to choose whose to share next.
Education, Income, and Health…our focus areas and where we do our best work.
Doubt? There is absolutely none that this job is the place for me. I love it more every day.
I am so very thankful for the opportunity I have been given to play a part in improving lives in our community. I have said it before, but it is worth repeating: We all have the opportunity to change the world in our very own backyards. Won’t you join us?
