Summer Learning, Volunteering, and Feeding Opportunities

As I write this entry, there are exactly 16.5 hours of school left in the 2014-2015 school year, and I can almost hear the kids (and teachers) cheering!  There have been graduation parties, promotion ceremonies and Play Days.  Construction has started on school buildings in Salina, and busses are being scheduled for maintenance.  Summer camp arrangements have been made, and vacations are being planned.  For some, THIS is the most wonderful time of the year!

Emerging Community Leaders Have Many Benefits

The Salina Area United Way is always looking for volunteers who plan ahead and want to make a difference in our community.  Volunteers will learn about civic leadership and management across all community sectors.   United Way is about balancing self-centered personal interest and alturisum for the good of all.  To help cultivate balanced community leaders the United Way has developed an annual process for nurturing Emerging Community Leaders.
