VOLUNTEER WITH
SALINA AREA UNITED WAY!

Have you ever wanted to jump right in? Volunteering with the Salina Area United Way is a great way to get actively engaged in your community. No matter if you are an area youth, working adult, or senior citizen, there is always an opportunity for you to partner with United Way.

We have many projects and volunteer needs throughout the year!
We have had volunteers:

- Read to area elementary schools
- Assist with office and computer work
- Sort and help distribute school supplies to local schools

- Assemble and package literacy kits for incoming Kindergarteners
- Serve as Board Members and on committees ranging from community impact to finanance to campaign and everything in between
- Coordinate businesses, individuals, agencies, and community members in year-round United Way fundraising and campaigning
...and much more!

Everyone has valuable experiences that demonstrate a vast array of skills, knowledge and expertise. You are no different.  You have something that will make the Salina Area United Way a better organization.

CJ Hammon

CJ grew up in Salina. She went to Salina High School South and graduated from Tescott High School in 2011. She has lived in Salina for 23 years.

CJ currently works as a sales trainer for Nex-Tech Wireless and Marketing and a media & communications associate at Salina Area United Way. She was previously a retail sales associate for Nex-Tech Wireless and an assistant general manager for Colortyme Rent to Own.

CJ wants to increase the Community impact given to those in need and inspire others to give their time, skills, and financial donations to supporting and growing Salina’s community. She wants to change the lives of citizens through positivity and support and showcase the amazing work SAUW does that most people don’t know about.

CJ’s husband, Chris, is a service technician for ADI Systems. Her 3 dogs, Samus, Shepard, and Kevin spend their days being adorable and snuggly.

CJ wants to see increased financial stability for all Salina citizens in need and create specialized work opportunities for community members to receive training through Salina Tech or other vocational programs. She wants to make downtown Salina a fun and inviting place to shop, live, and play and increase awareness of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to get free books into the hands of children. She wants to work with other organizations to increase arts and music education in schools and grow the SAUW Volunteer Hub with more active users and volunteer opportunities.

Reagan Hotz

Reagan grew up in Salina Kansas and graduated from Salina Central High School in 2015. She is currently working toward a Bachelor’s degree in digital media technology at Kansas State University Polytechnic. She has lived in Salina her entire 20 year life. She works at Kansas State Polytechnic as a student assistant in the digital media lab.
Reagan was introduced to SAUW by one of her professors and she started volunteering because it satisfies the requirements for her digital media project class. She finds putting her skills in graphic design and other areas of digital media to work helping a charitable organization to be very rewarding because her work has a real impact on real people.
Reagan lives at home with her parents. Her mom delivers newspapers for the Salina Journal and her dad does locate jobs for the Salina Water Department. Reagan has an Older sister who lives in Colorado with her wife and their kids.
Reagan would like to see education improve and efforts to beautify Salina expand.

Julia Ramos

Julia moved back to Salina 2 years ago. She lived in Salina for 10 years prior to her move. She has worked for Communities In Schools of Mid-America and the Community Relations Division for the City of Salina.

To Julia, volunteering is a great way to stay informed and give back to the community. She has a big family who loves to get together. She would like to see a more united community working toward a positive city environment.
