Brenda joined SAUW in the fall of 2009. As a community impact organization working in the areas of Education, Financial Stability, and Health, Brenda leads in the areas of program development, partner, and community relations. Brenda received both her BS and BFA from K-State Manhattan. She has experience in both the non-profit and for-profit settings. Brenda draws on a strong background in marketing and public relations as she works to improve communication while increasing interest and participation, leadership and development. Brenda leverages her skills, working with volunteers, organizations, businesses, donors, and leaders to further the mission and vision of the Salina Area United Way.
A committed community advocate, Brenda serves on the steering committee of the Saline County Back to School Fair, now in its 18th year. Brenda serves on the boards Live Well Saline County, North Central Regional Food Council, Kansas Rural Center, Salina Area Community Services Council, and Salina's Summer Meals Coalition.
Leveraging the power of relationships and networks, Brenda has served on the planning committees and boards for Heartland Early Education Policy Board, Kansas Women Infant and Children (WIC) Statewide Stakeholders, Salina Educators, Kansas Hunger Roundtable, Cancer Coalition of North Central Kansas, and the Kansas Storytelling Festival. In her free time, you might see her filling Little Libraries, and helping with OneSalina.
Brenda and her husband Michael have lived in Salina for over 27 years, and are active volunteers and board members for many community and service organizations.
